Night of Laughter

On Sunday 18th January 2009 Calvary Baptist Tabernacle celebrated a night of laughter with the intention of facing the new year with laughter and ringing out the hurts and pains of the old year.

Jokes rang through the church as the Comedian Sister surprised the unexpected members who were called upon to share in the fun.

The theme for this year at the church is “Don’t be left behind in 2009”.

High sounds of praise and worship rang out from the auditorium of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle for the period February 16th to 18th February 2009 . Reverend Dexter James of The Warriors Assembly Church of God of Prophecy in Trinidad was the dynamic preacher for these three nights of services.

Friend Sunday

The annual Friend Sunday Celebrations at Calvary Baptist Tabernacle was held on Sunday 8th March 2009.  This day was designed to reflect and enjoy friendships made. The members of the Friendship Club which consists of children who are potty trained up to the age of twelve, were responsible for the day’s celebrations.

The Children blessed the hearts of the listening audience with two beautiful renditions of “Glory, glory, hallelujah, since I lay my burdens down” and “What a lovely name, the name of Jesus”.

In the evening at 6:30, there were short dramatic presentations of a few of the bible characters namely, Queen Esther, David and Goliath, Samson and Delilah and The journey of the Good Samaritan.  They were all ably delivered. Individual renditions were also beautifully done.

Easter Celebrations

Tuesday April 7th 2009 marked the annual Easter Celebrations.  The theme for this year was “Songs from the cross”. Featuring were ‘The Dominion Dancers’ and ‘For His Glory Dancers’, a Dramatic Presentation of ‘The story of Jesus Christ from Mary’s Point of View’.

Another highlight of the evening was the harmonious voices of our very own ten year old, Kaylor Bass, who sang that beautiful song written by Dottie Rambo, “I will glory in the cross”.  Evadne Claxton, Carl Thompson, Ayoub Morancie and Nydia Taylor made their performances great and were beautifully accompanied by the dynamic vocals of Jaslynn Taylor, James Morris, Yannick Mills and Marvin Thompson.  This was an evening of a difference and it did no less than bless the hearts of the listening audience.
